We were pickep up by Godfrey, He first told us about the history of district 6 and the townships. Then he took us on a very impressive tour through the townships and district 6. We stopped at many places and only got to see what it is to be in a township without feeling like you are visiting a zoo. We are very glad that we did this tour and recommend it to everyone who's interested in the background of many South Africans. Godfrey tried to teach us the Xhosa word for beer but it was too difficult! Umqombothi.
It was a very interesting trip and we would definitely recommend it! The guides were great and the visit to the pub and the kindergarden were absolute highlights.
Very good tour with an approachable and knowledgeable guide. Even if you have been to the townships do this tour. You gain a better understanding of their history and function by the guide's presence. You also avoid all the hawkers and stalls which is a big +ve.
They were all fantastic - I highly recommend them all! (Township Tour/Cape Point/Robben Island) But before you do these do the topless bus tour & get all the discount vouchers and then do the tours - much cheaper that way, but definitely do them all - as many as you can. Thanks Jacqui for recommending them!
All these tours were brilliant and very informative. Again, I would highly recommend them all. Cape Town is a fantastic place and well worth a longer visit when the weather is better.

To All,the hostel is really friendly and the staff are helpful. The township tour with Sam's Cultural Tours was educational and the hostels food has been very good.

Great guide (Sam), who showed us real township life which had more positive aspects than i expected.
